Garage Conversion Utility Room

An unused garage is one of the easiest ways to add a genuine room to your home without building an extension. LD&C Homes has been carrying out garage conversions across Bexley, Sidcup and the surrounding areas for over 30 years, turning underused spaces into rooms that actually get used.

What can a garage become?

A garage conversion is the simplest and most affordable way to add a room to your home. The structure is already there. No foundations, no steelwork, no building upward or outward. It is purely an internal transformation. Insulation, a new floor, electrics, plastering and finishing to the same standard as the rest of your home. Most conversions are complete within two to three weeks.

The space can become almost anything. A home office, an extra bedroom, a gym, a playroom or a utility room. Whatever you need most.

Do you need planning permission?

Most garage conversions fall under permitted development and do not require planning permission. You will need building regulations approval, which we handle as part of the project. If your property is in a conservation area or is listed, different rules may apply. We will confirm what is needed before any work begins.

What the job involves

We close the garage door opening with blockwork or studwork, insulate the floor, walls and ceiling, lay a new screed or timber floor, install electrics and plaster throughout. If plumbing is needed for a bathroom or utility room we handle that too. A typical garage conversion is complete within two to three weeks with minimal disruption to the rest of your home.

No deposit required

We do not ask for a deposit. You pay in stages as each part of the work is completed. No money upfront, no risk to you.
